What the Squad Is Saying...
Girls will travel far and wide from all over the 5 boroughs of New York City to spend time with the creator of Sweat To Change, Heidi Jones herself. It's as if she is a bundle of joy wrapped with a bow that each and every fitness enthusiast in the big city gets to unwrap as they attend more and more of her events.
When I was invited to speak and teach at this gathering of strong independent ladies at first I was intimidated. I didn't know what to expect, how many would show up, or what their experience of CrossFit training (my 10-year passion!) would be!
I was thrilled to see what was waiting for us... it was a snowy day and a Nike event and as they strapped a microphone on me I got to lead 60+ ladies in exercise. Women of all shapes and sizes, all in workout gear, were ready to try something new and challenge themselves. We worked on rings, flipped upside down in handstands, and lifted heavy kettlebells with party music blaring.
As the room started to heat up, the girls started encouraging each other while giving high-fives and fist bumps on their rest breaks. I don't know how she did it, but all I know is Heidi has created more than just a brand, but a community, that will surely uphold to its name, "Sweat to Change."
Sweat to Change is a group of women and men who empower each other through our stories, give back through charity and re-define our limits in workouts.
This is Sweat To Change.
